Dr. Daniel Van Olmen is a Senior Lecturer in Linguistics at the University of Lancaster's Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences (FASS), specifically within the Linguistics and English Language department. He holds editorial roles as Editor-in-Chief of the *Trends in Linguistics - Studies and Monographs* series and former editor of *Ampersand: An International Journal of General and Applied Linguistics*. His research focuses on tense, mood, modality, pragmatic markers, negation, and language change in West Germanic languages, with broader interests in areal linguistics, contrastive linguistics, and corpus-driven approaches.
