Daniel Soeder is an Adjunct Professor of Geology at West Virginia University (WVU). His career spans government roles, academia, and consulting, with a focus on energy resources and environmental geology. He has held positions at the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), DOE NETL, and the South Dakota School of Mines & Technology.
His research interests include shale gas development, environmental impacts of hydraulic fracturing, and carbon dioxide sequestration. He has authored multiple books and contributed to projects such as the Eastern Gas Shale Project and Yucca Mountain nuclear waste repository studies.
