Daniel Silverman

Daniel H. Silverman is a Professor in the Department of Molecular and Medical Pharmacology at the University of California, Los Angeles (David Geffen School of Medicine). As Head of the Neuronuclear Imaging Section at UCLA Medical Center, his work spans Alzheimer's disease research, epilepsy diagnostics, and oncological neuroimaging with a focus on PET scan applications in cognitive disorders and brain tumors.

With a Ph.D. in Biological Chemistry from Harvard University and M.D. from The Ohio State University College of Medicine, he has held multiple leadership roles including membership on the Executive Committee of the UCLA Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center. His research has generated over two decades of high-impact publications in journals like JAMA, Neuron, and Alzheimer's & Dementia, with particular emphasis on amyloid and tau imaging, chemotherapy-related cognitive changes, and machine learning applications in epilepsy diagnosis.

His clinical certifications from the American Board of Internal Medicine and Nuclear Medicine complement his translational research bridging biochemistry, neuroimaging, and clinical applications.
