Daniel Shealy

Daniel Shealy, Ph.D., is a Professor of English at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte (UNCC), located in Charlotte, NC. He holds a Ph.D. and M.A. from the University of South Carolina at Columbia and a B.A. from Newberry College.

His research focuses on 19th-century American literature, with recent work published on Louisa May Alcott in Resources for American Literary Study. He teaches courses on colonial/early American literature, American Romanticism (1820–1870), realistic/naturalistic periods (1870–1920), and the 19th-century American novel. His teaching portfolio includes undergraduate and graduate courses such as ENGL 3140, 3141, 3142, 4143, and 6141.
