Daniel Thomas Price, MD, is an Associate Professor of Medicine (Cardiovascular Medicine) at the Yale School of Medicine. He serves as Vice Chief of Ambulatory Services for Cardiovascular Medicine and Ambulatory Medical Director of the Heart and Vascular Center of Yale New Haven Health System. His clinical expertise includes echocardiography and management of cardiovascular risk factors.
Dr. Price completed his BS at Texas A&M University (1990), MD at University of Texas Southwestern (1994), residency at Brigham & Women’s Hospital/Harvard (1995–1997), and cardiovascular fellowship at Boston Medical Center/Boston University (2000). He joined Yale in 2001 as an attending physician and became full-time faculty in 2013.
His research focuses on endothelial dysfunction in hypertension, genetic thrombophilia mechanisms, and vascular adaptations to exercise. Notable contributions include studies on COX-2 inhibition’s effects on endothelial function and Factor V Leiden mutation’s role in thromboembolic disorders. He received the ACC-Merck Fellowship Award (2000) for research excellence.
Administrative roles include leadership in the Heart and Vascular Center Operations Council (2013–2015) and service on professional committees for the American College of Cardiology. His clinical practice spans multiple Yale Medicine locations, emphasizing ambulatory cardiovascular care.
