Daniel Paredes-Soto is a Lecturer in Computer Vision and Machine Learning at the School of Computing Sciences, University of East Anglia (UEA). He holds a PhD in biomedical image analysis from the University of Sheffield (2016) and an MSc in Computing Science and Artificial Intelligence from the National Center for Research and Technological Development, Mexico (2009).
His research focuses on semantic segmentation of biomedical images for cardiovascular disease diagnosis, computer vision applications in robotics, and modeling human activities using sensor data. Prior to UEA, he worked in industry as an R&D Engineer enhancing UAV autopilot systems and collaborated on UKRI/EPSRC-funded projects at Sheffield, including multi-agent stochastic modeling and teleoperation systems.
Recent publications (2012–2021) span biomedical image analysis, robotics, and human-robot interaction. He teaches Computer Vision and Machine Learning at UEA and serves as Deputy Senior Adviser. His work bridges academic research with industrial applications in autonomous systems and healthcare technologies.
