Daniel P. Sulmasy, MD, PhD, MACP is the André Hellegers Professor of Biomedical Ethics at Georgetown University, serving as Director of the Kennedy Institute of Ethics and Pellegrino Center for Clinical Bioethics.
Research Focus: Theoretical and empirical studies of end-of-life ethics, intention in medical decisions, spirituality in healthcare, and diagnostic reasoning. Combines clinical practice with philosophical analysis of medical ethics.
Publications: Authored six books including 'The Healer's Calling' (1997), 'The Rebirth of the Clinic' (2006), 'Safe Passage: A Global Spiritual Sourcebook for Care at the End of Life' (2013), and serves as editor-in-chief of Theoretical Medicine and Bioethics.
