Daniel P Graham

Daniel P Graham is an Assistant Professor at the Department of History & Government at Bowie State University. His expertise spans European history, the history of science and technology, imperialism, and the history of capitalism, with a focus on the long nineteenth century and interdisciplinary intersections.

Dr. Graham’s research explores the global history of science and technology, imperialism, industrialization, and environmental history. His work critically examines how scientific advancements, colonial enterprises, and capitalist systems shaped urban and industrial landscapes, particularly in the U.S. and Europe.

His recent publications analyze themes such as colonial spatial imaginaries, museum reinterpretation strategies, and the socio-political dimensions of aviation history. These works reflect his engagement with public history and digital methodologies.

• Beckman Center for the History of Chemistry Research Fellowship (2022–23)

Dr. Graham has held roles as Director of Education and Outreach at the College Park Aviation Museum and Research Fellow at the Beckman Center for the History of Chemistry. His current book project investigates chemically focused industries’ evolution from the late 18th to early 20th century, using rubber manufacturing as a case study.
