Daniel Lavy

Dr. Daniel Lavy is an Assistant Professor of Surgery (Colon & Rectal) at the Yale School of Medicine. He specializes in minimally invasive colorectal surgery, including robotic and laparoscopic procedures, and treats conditions such as inflammatory bowel disease, colorectal cancers, and anorectal disorders. His clinical focus includes hemorrhoids, anal fistulas, and fecal incontinence management. Dr. Lavy holds board certification in Colon and Rectal Surgery and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons.

Education: MD from Ross University (2011), BA in Biology from Bucknell University (2007). Surgical training includes residency at Monmouth Medical Center/RWJ Barnabas Health (2017) and a fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic Florida (2018).

Research Interests: His work spans surgical techniques, outcomes analysis, and rare pathologies. Recent studies include anal fistula management, metastatic thymoma treatment strategies, and unusual clinical cases such as gastric schwannoma with H. pylori.

Professional Activities: Board member of the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation. Active presenter at national conferences including the American Society for Colon and Rectal Surgeons.
