Daniel Krauss is a Professor of Psychological Science at Claremont McKenna College, holding the George R. Roberts Fellow distinction. Krauss’s research focuses on the interaction of Law and Psychology, with emphasis on Psychological Evidence Admissibility and Clinical Forensic Assessment. His recent publications address algorithmic bias in child pornography offender assessments, risk communication difficulties in sexually violent predator decisions, and the Supreme Court’s historical misunderstandings of insanity.
He has received numerous accolades including the Crown Professor of Psychology (2024), Outstanding Teaching and Mentoring Award (Division 41 APA, 2022), and President of the American Board of Forensic Psychology (2022). His work has been recognized by the Society for Empirical Legal Studies (Fellow, 2021) and Association for Psychological Science (Fellow, 2016).
Krauss leads the Psychology, Law & Policy Lab, maintaining regular office hours for student and professional engagement. His teaching spans Clinical Psychology Seminars, Intro Psychology, and specialized courses in Forensic Psychology and Law and Psychology.
