Daniel Kirchner

Daniel Kirchner, Ph.D., is a Senior Lecturer at the Lewis Honors College of the University of Kentucky. He holds degrees from Johns Hopkins University (B.A. in International Relations and German), Harvard University (M.T.S. in 19th Century Philosophy and Theology), and Indiana University (Ph.D. in Philosophy).

Research and Teaching: Kirchner specializes in the history of philosophy and ethics, with a focus on environmental ethics, food ethics, and biomedical ethics. His pedagogical approach emphasizes primary texts and experiential learning through internships and community engagement.
