About
Daniel Kasprowski is a Senior Research Fellow in Pure Mathematics at the University of Southampton. His research spans low-dimensional topology, coarse geometry, and algebraic K-theory, with a focus on the classification of 4-manifolds. He studies equivalence relations such as stable homeomorphism and homotopy equivalence, while exploring connections between coarse geometry and algebraic K-/L-theory via assembly maps.
- Current research: Topological classification of 4-manifolds, coarse geometry, quantum cellular automata
- Teaching: Geometry and Topology at Southampton; previously taught algebraic topology and geometric group theory in Bonn
His publications include foundational work on immersions, embeddings, and transformations of 4-manifolds, co-authored with leading mathematicians. Daniel is actively involved in mentoring PhD students and contributes to interdisciplinary research through the Centre for Geometry, Topology, and Applications.
