About
Dr. Daniel Kócsi is a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Institut Català d'Investigació Química (ICIQ), affiliated with Prof. Rubén Martín's research group. He holds a PhD in organic chemistry from Uppsala University (2015-2020) and a chemical engineering degree from Budapest University of Technology and Economics (2015). Prior to his postdoctoral position, he worked for four years in the pharmaceutical industry as an R&D chemist and project leader, focusing on small molecule synthesis, route scouting, and process optimization for large-scale production.
- Research Focus: Synthesis and characterization of luminescent lanthanide complexes, energy/electron transfer mechanisms, and advanced spectroscopic techniques
- Technical Expertise: Fluorescent spectroscopy, paramagnetic NMR, electrochemical analysis
Current role involves contributing to Prof. Martín’s group exploring cutting-edge chemical synthesis methodologies at ICIQ’s state-of-the-art facilities, including the Photophysics Spectroscopy and Material Characterisation labs.
