Daniel J. Rosbottom

Professor Daniel J. Rosbottom (born 1969) holds the Chair of Interiors Buildings Cities at the Department of Architecture, Faculty of Architecture and the Built Environment, Delft University of Technology. He succeeded Professor Emeritus Tony Fretton in this position, bringing a distinctive British perspective to the chair. Rosbottom advocates for teaching through projects that create a symbiotic relationship between practice and education, having previously served as Head of the School of Architecture and Landscape at Kingston University in London.

His research focuses on understanding architecture as both a social and material discourse, with particular emphasis on how interior architecture and urban architecture form interconnected systems of spatial order. Rosbottom challenges modernity's obsession with visual aspects by promoting more bodily understandings of architectural space.
