Dr. Daniel Hackett is a Senior Lecturer in Exercise and Sport Science at the University of Sydney's School of Health Sciences. He is a member of the Charles Perkins Centre and leads the Exercise Physiology and Nutrition research team. His research focuses on resistance training adaptations, muscle physiology, and their applications in clinical and athletic populations. He holds a BExSc from ACU, an MHSc (Honours) from Sydney, and a PhD from Sydney.
Research Interests: Resistance Training, Muscle Adaptation, Neuromuscular Disease, Cardiometabolic Disease, and Inflammatory Disease.
Current Projects: Collaborative studies include a clinical trial on resistance exercise and gut microbiota in inflammatory bowel disease patients and talent identification in athlete development with Minnan Normal University, China.
Teaching: Passionate about integrating research into teaching, focusing on resistance training's role in health and performance. Advises graduate student Morteza Ghayomzadeh Javinani on isometric vs. dynamic training efficacy.
