Daniel Grosu is a Professor in the Department of Computer Science at Wayne State University's College of Engineering. He directs the Parallel and Distributed Computing Lab (PDCL) and serves as IEEE Computer Society Distinguished Contributor and ACM Distinguished Member.
His research spans cloud/edge computing, parallel/distributed algorithms, approximation algorithms, scheduling, load balancing, and computational economics. Recent work focuses on developing efficient algorithms for edge computing systems, GPU-accelerated graph algorithms, and sustainable computing approaches for autonomous systems.
Dr. Grosu has supervised numerous graduate students to completion, with alumni holding positions in academia and industry. He currently serves as Senior Associate Editor for ACM Computing Surveys and Associate Editor for IEEE Transactions on Parallel and Distributed Systems and IEEE Transactions on Cloud Computing.
His honors include ACM Distinguished Membership and multiple best paper awards for contributions to parallel computing and distributed systems.
