Daniel Gilman

Daniel Gilman is a Sessional Assistant Professor of History and Interim Faculty Chaplain at Redeemer University. He specializes in the intersection of historical rhetoric, abolitionism, and theological discourse, with a focus on post-Christian contexts. His current research explores the role of public speaking and private conversations in ending the transatlantic slave trade through his PhD at Cambridge University.

Daniel’s scholarly work trends toward interdisciplinary analysis of historical evidence, theological language, and rhetorical strategies in social reform. He has received multiple prestigious awards, including SSHRC scholarships and the Gospel in Academia Prize.
