Daniel Gatica-Perez

Daniel Gatica-Perez is an Adjunct Professor at École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL), affiliated with multiple institutions including the LIDIAP Laboratory, the Digital Humanities Institute (DHI), and the School of Social Sciences (SODH). He leads the Social Computing Group and holds administrative roles such as Director of SODH-GE. His work bridges engineering and humanities, focusing on human-centered computing and digital behavioral analysis.

He has been involved in institutional leadership and curriculum development within the Doctoral Program in Digital Humanities.

He leads the Social Computing Group at EPFL, a research unit dedicated to understanding and modeling human behavior through computational methods applied to large-scale digital data. The group fosters interdisciplinary collaboration between computer scientists, social scientists, and digital humanists.
