Daniel Fisher is a Professor and Van Weathers Chair in the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at Oklahoma State University (OSU), where he also serves as Director of the Zink Center. He holds a Ph.D. (1995), M.S. (1989), and B.S. (1983) in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, as well as a B.A. in International Business from Carthage College (1981).
His research focuses on thermal systems design, building heat transfer simulation, and energy conversion technologies. Notable contributions include advancements in microchannel heat exchanger modeling, ground heat exchanger optimization, and refrigeration system innovation.
Dr. Fisher teaches courses such as Thermodynamics II, Heat Transfer, and Advanced Indoor Environmental Systems. He has received prestigious awards including the ASHRAE Fellow (2010) and R&D 100 Award (2003), and has advised the ASHRAE Student Branch since 2000. His work integrates computational modeling with experimental validation, addressing challenges in HVAC efficiency and renewable energy applications.
