Professor Daniel F. Garrett is a Professor of Economics at the University of Essex and a Fellow of the Centre for Economic Policy Research (CEPR). He holds an Associate Faculty position at the Toulouse School of Economics (TSE) and previously served as a Professor at TSE until 2023. He earned his PhD in Economics from Northwestern University in 2012. His research focuses on microeconomic theory, industrial organization, and regulatory economics, with notable contributions to dynamic mechanism design, price discrimination, and managerial compensation.
Professor Garrett has secured significant research funding, including an ERC Starting Grant (2017–2023) and a UKRI Frontier Research Grant (2024–2029). He is an Associate Editor at the Review of Economic Studies.
