Daniel Estabrooks serves as an Assistant Professor of Biological Sciences at Warner University since August 2013. He holds a B.Sc. in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology from the University of Tennessee and an M.Sc. in Ecology from Middle Tennessee State University.
His research focuses on documenting invasive species and biodiversity, including the first known population of Giant Toad (Rhinella horribilis) in Florida and the northernmost Veiled Chameleon (Chamaeleo calyptratus) population in the U.S. He actively contributes to citizen science via eBird and iNaturalist, submitting over 233 bird species recordings (including a top-ranked Mangrove Cuckoo entry) and 1,575 species observations.
Dr. Estabrooks combines professional work with hobbies like deploying sound recorders to study migratory bird calls. His interests also include Pittsburgh Penguins fandom and reflecting on ecological stewardship through Ecclesiastes 2:24.
