Daniel Denhart serves as Professor and Head of the Technical Direction Program within the Department of Theater at Ohio University's College of Fine Arts. Holding this position since 1986, he transitioned to a tenured faculty role in 2002 and received tenure in 2005. His institutional affiliations extend to the Ohio Valley Summer Theater (25+ seasons as Production Manager/Set Designer), United States Institute for Theatre Technology (current VP Special Operations), and Theater For A New City (Off-Broadway Technical Director).
Denhart specializes in Technical Direction, Set Design, and Scenic Art, with expertise spanning university productions, summer theater festivals, and international design exhibitions. His recent credits include technical direction for The 4th Sister (2005-06) through The Holiday (2010-11), scenery design for 15+ Ohio Valley productions, and Off-Broadway work on Finding Claire and On Naked Soil. He advances theater technology globally through leadership in the Prague Quadrennial and World Stage Design Exhibition.
As an educator, Denhart has trained generations of technical directors now working professionally nationwide.
