Daniel Boivin is a Part-time Professor at the Faculty of Law, University of Ottawa, teaching evidence law for over 30 years while seconded from Gowling WLG. As a partner in their Advocacy Group, he focuses on health law representation for the Canadian Medical Protective Association and has argued cases before the Ontario Superior Court, Court of Appeal, Federal Court, and Supreme Court of Canada, practicing in both English and French.

His research spans health law, evidence law, civil litigation, language rights, and advocacy skills, driven by decades of promoting access to justice for Francophone communities outside Quebec. His work integrates courtroom experience with academic instruction, particularly through lectures on health law and civil litigation for legal professionals.
Professor Boivin actively serves community organizations including a Francophone radio station in Ottawa, the Ottawa Arts Council, and the Ottawa Symphony Orchestra. He also contributes to amateur sports as a board member of Ski Québec Alpin and national official in competitive alpine skiing.
