Daniel Boateng

Dr. Daniel Boateng is a Senior Lecturer in Epidemiology and Biostatistics at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) School of Public Health, Ghana. He specializes in global health research focusing on non-communicable diseases, maternal health, dietary behavior, multimorbidity, and evidence synthesis in vulnerable populations, including migrants and ethnic minorities.

• Education: MSc and PhD in Clinical Epidemiology from Utrecht University, Netherlands; Public Health training from KNUST, Ghana; and Implementation Science training from Thailand’s Health Systems Research Institute & Mahidol University.
• Research Areas: Non-communicable diseases, multimorbidity, implementation science, dietary behavior, maternal health, and evidence synthesis.
• Collaborations: Works with international research consortia, including Wits University, North-West University (South Africa), Institute of Tropical Medicine (Belgium), and partners across Europe, Asia, and Africa.
• Teaching: Coordinates the Global Health Writing Retreat (Utrecht University Summer School) and serves as a Guest Lecturer at Wits University on NCD epidemiology.
• Professional Affiliations: Member of the Dutch Society for Tropical Medicine and International Health (NVTG), International Society for Developmental Origins of Health and Disease, African Nutrition Network, European Society of Cardiology, and others.
