Daniel Ames is Professor of Accounting and Interim Associate Dean of the College of Business at Bryant University. He holds a PhD from Southern Illinois University-Carbondale and teaches accounting analytics and financial accounting courses.
His research examines financial reporting behavior in insurance companies, corporate acquisitions across business lifecycle stages, accounting education technology, and executive compensation structures. Recent work analyzes AI chatbots in accounting assessment and uncertainty effects on P&C insurers' financial disclosures. Ames maintains active publication record with articles addressing fraud risk assessment, IFRS adoption impacts, board governance, and whistleblowing behavior.
As Interim Associate Dean, he provides academic leadership for the College of Business while continuing his research on accounting practices, financial reporting standards, and pedagogical innovations in business education.
