Daniel A. Stout is an Adjunct Professor of Communication Studies at Furman University. He previously served as Director of the Greenspun School of Journalism and Media Studies at the University of Nevada Las Vegas and held tenured positions at the University of South Carolina, Brigham Young University, and BYU Hawaii. His research focuses on the intersection of communication, media, and religion. He co-founded the Journal of Media and Religion (Routledge) and authored or edited books such as Media and Religion: Foundations of an Emerging Field and the Routledge Encyclopedia of Religion, Communication, and Media. His work appears in journals like Critical Studies in Media Communication and Mass Communication and Society.
