Dana Resop

Dana Resop, MD, is a Clinical Associate Professor at the University of Wisconsin–Madison School of Medicine and Public Health, affiliated with the Department of Emergency Medicine and the William S. Middleton Veterans Hospital. She specializes in emergency ultrasound and has been a full-time faculty member since 2015.

• Education: Undergraduate and MD from University of Wisconsin–Madison, Emergency Medicine residency and Ultrasound fellowship at University of Massachusetts Chan Medical School

Her research focuses on point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS) applications in emergency medicine, Veterans' healthcare, and critical care. She has led studies on POCUS reliability, training frameworks, and implementation barriers across VA hospitals.

Selected national leadership roles include:

• Assistant Director, Clinical Emergency Ultrasound (University & VA Hospitals)
• Board Member, Wisconsin chapter of the American College of Emergency Physicians (2012-2020)
• Medical Director, Stroke Committee at Beloit Memorial Hospital (received Team Leadership Award, 2015)

Dr. Resop actively educates medical students, residents, and faculty while contributing to POCUS standardization through national surveys and assessment checklists.
