Dan Rosenthal

Dan Rosenthal is an Associate Professor at Berklee College of Music, holding roles in the Ear Training department, as well as adjunct positions in the Brass and Electronic Production Departments. A renowned jazz trumpeter and composer, he has extensive performance experience across North America, Europe, and Africa. Rosenthal has contributed to over 50 recordings as a sideman, collaborating with artists like Mulatu Astatke, the Either/Orchestra, and Anthony Braxton. His teaching focuses on ear training for live performance and music theory.

He maintains a vibrant musical family legacy, often performing folk and bluegrass music with his father, Phil Rosenthal, a celebrated bluegrass musician. Rosenthal’s work bridges classical composition, jazz improvisation, and contemporary electronic production techniques.
