Dan Phillips

Dan Phillips is an Associate Professor in the Department of Electrical and Microelectronic Engineering at RIT's Kate Gleason College of Engineering. He holds a BS from SUNY Buffalo and MS/Ph.D. from the University of Rochester. His research focuses on Effective Access Technology, developing assistive healthcare solutions through interdisciplinary collaboration.

Phillips directs the Effective Access Technology initiative, partnering with community healthcare providers to create experiential learning opportunities for students. Current projects include interactive therapeutic devices for developmental disabilities and prosthetic design using 3D printing technology. His research applies engineering principles to enhance accessibility and empower individuals with varying abilities.

He teaches courses including Dynamics and Control of Biomedical Systems, Biomedical Instrumentation, Fundamental Electrophysiology, and Biomedical Signal Processing at both undergraduate and graduate levels. His instructional approach integrates engineering fundamentals with biomedical applications.
