Dan Ho

Dan Ho is the William Benjamin Scott and Luna M. Scott Professor of Law at Stanford Law School, Professor of Political Science, and Senior Fellow at the Stanford Institute for Economic Policy Research. He serves as Associate Director of the Stanford Institute for Human-Centered Artificial Intelligence (HAI), Faculty Fellow at the Center for Advanced Study in the Behavioral Sciences, and Director of the Regulation, Evaluation, and Governance Lab (RegLab). He advises the White House via the National Artificial Intelligence Advisory Commission (NAIAC), holds roles at the U.S. Department of Labor, and contributes to policy through the Administrative Conference of the United States (ACUS).

His research spans oncology with a focus on EGFR mutations, targeted therapies, and lung cancer genomics, alongside interdisciplinary work in AI ethics, regulatory governance, and health policy. He earned his J.D. from Yale Law School and Ph.D. from Harvard University, with a judicial clerkship at the U.S. Court of Appeals, D.C. Circuit.
