About
Professor Dan Goodley is a Professor of Disability Studies and Education at the University of Sheffield's School of Education, co-directing the iHuman initiative. He holds a PhD and BSc (Hons). His research focuses on critical disability studies, challenging disablism and ableism, and exploring the human condition in the 21st century.
He has led major research projects, including a £2.9M Wellcome Trust grant (2023–2029) and an ESRC-funded study on healthcare experiences of people with learning disabilities. His work addresses disability policy, inclusive education, and technology’s impact on disabled individuals.
Research interests include: disability and the human, healthcare equity, posthumanism, and social justice. His articles critique systemic barriers and advocate for inclusive methodologies. He co-directs iHuman, exploring humanism in a technocapitalist era.
Teaching includes modules on psychology, education, and research methodologies. Professional activities include editorial roles in journals like Disability & Society and ESRC peer review.
