Dan Fauset is a Senior Lecturer in Law and Criminology at the Sheffield Institute of Law and Justice, part of Sheffield Hallam University's College of Social Sciences and Arts. He joined in 2013 after practicing law in private and public sectors, specializing in family law, public law, education law, and human rights. He holds a BA (Hons), LLM (Distinction), and is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA).
His teaching focuses on family law and criminology, including modules like Family Law Policy and Practice and Introduction to Criminology and Practice. He also supervises dissertations and LLM by Research. In 2021, he received the Outstanding Academic Advising Award for his student support.
Research interests center on child protection, state intervention, and human rights in legal contexts. He has published in Child and Family Law Quarterly and presented conference papers on care proceedings reforms and child sexual exploitation.
