Dan Eubanks

Dan Eubanks is a Lecturer in the Department of Music at the University of Missouri-St. Louis within the College of Arts and Sciences. A multi-instrumentalist and professional upright bassist since 2013 for Grammy-nominated bluegrass band Special Consensus, he combines performance experience with academic teaching.

• Bachelor’s and Master’s in Jazz Studies from Webster University
• Adjunct faculty teaching experience at multiple institutions
• Active session musician across Bluegrass, Americana, Country, Jazz, and Latin genres

His research and teaching interests focus on practical music education, upright bass pedagogy, and traditional/roots music performance. As a performing artist, he contributed to seven International Bluegrass Music Association award-winning projects, including an Album of the Year award during his tenure with Special Consensus.

Scientific honors include:

• Grammy nomination (Best Bluegrass Album - 2013 onwards)
• IBMA Album of the Year (with Special Consensus)
• Other unspecified IBMA trophies (6 additional)
