Dan Bock

Dan Bock is a Senior Lecturer in Bioscience at Griffith University's School of Environment and Science. His research investigates the evolutionary genetics of biological invasions, specializing in genomic adaptation of invasive species like sunflowers (Helianthus) and lizards (Anolis).

His work combines field studies, experimental approaches, and genomic analyses to understand how invasive species adapt to novel environments. Current projects focus on evolutionary stasis in thermal tolerance, hybridization effects during invasion, and temporal genomic studies.

He leads projects developing DNA-based biosurveillance systems and studies the role of phenotypic plasticity in invasion success. His research group is currently recruiting students for projects combining genomics with ecological studies in Australia and internationally.
