Damon Rarick

Damon Rarick is an Associate Professor of German at the University of Rhode Island, home to the second largest German program in the U.S. He teaches all levels of German, including specialized courses for business, science, and engineering majors, and has developed innovative pedagogical approaches.

• Recipient of the URI Foundation Excellence in Teaching Award
• Founder of the open-access Online Journal for Global Engineering Education (2006)
• Active leadership roles in academic organizations: AATG Executive Committee & National Chair of AATG External Committee for German for Professional Purposes

His research focuses on international engineering education, educational technology, language pedagogy, and interdisciplinary German literature studies, evidenced through publications in The Rocky Mountain Review, ADFL Bulletin, and Glossen. Workshops presented for Goethe Institut, DAAD, and professional associations demonstrate his commitment to advancing German language instruction.
