Damion Bunders

Dr. Damion Bunders is an Assistant Professor at Utrecht University's Department of Human Geography and Spatial Planning and School of Governance. His research focuses on social innovation in digital societies, aiming to bridge equity gaps in technology access. He explores pathways for inclusive and sustainable futures through interdisciplinary collaboration with societal stakeholders.

Key expertise includes digital society governance, bottom-up initiatives, political economy, and smart citizenship. His teaching emphasizes digital tools and community-engaged learning.

Current research themes include Institutions for Open Societies (IOS), Pathways to Sustainability (PtS), and Governing the Digital Society. He leads the Human-AI Interactions in Urban Governance project, funded by Utrecht University's Pathways seed funding.
