Damien Contandriopoulos is Professor and Associate Director of Graduate Education in the School of Nursing at the University of Victoria. He previously held a CIHR Applied Public Health Chair (2014-2019) focused on health policy analysis and care delivery innovation.
Research foci include:
- Policy-making processes in healthcare systems
- Integration of nurse practitioners into primary care teams
- Economic and organizational analysis of care models
- Knowledge translation in public health decision-making
His recent scholarship examines primary care transformation through realist evaluations of NP-led clinics, patient rostering systems, and integrated team effectiveness. Publications demonstrate consistent methodological innovation in studying policy implementation, including sociogram analysis, logic modeling, and interrupted time-series designs.
Dr. Contandriopoulos leads research on centralized waiting list interventions across seven Canadian provinces and investigates private financing impacts on healthcare systems.
