Daisy Skirton

Mrs Daisy Skirton is an Associate Lecturer in the Health and Social Sciences department at the University of the West of England. She contributes to teaching across the BA Sociology programme, including modules such as "Introduction to Criminological Theory," "Critical thinking," "Sociological Practice L1 Module," and "Modernity & Global Intimacies."

Her research explores the intersection of gender, motherhood, and food insecurity, with current PhD fieldwork examining mothers' experiences with Food Clubs - a food charity project run by FareShare and Family Action in partnership with Bristol Children's Centres. She is also interested in social class, socioeconomic inequality, feminist activism, and transnational migration, particularly focusing on narratives of intersectional sisterhood in female relationships across borders.
