Dagna Rams

Dagna Rams is a Researcher in the Department of Anthropology at the London School of Economics (LSE). Her work focuses on extractive economies, waste management, and global metal markets. She completed doctoral fieldwork in Ghana's scrapyards and e-waste sites, examining how metal demand shapes landscapes, livelihoods, and industrialization. Her research bridges resource management, technological innovation, and commodity chains.

Her current project investigates how metal markets and tech companies address metal supply sustainability, supported by a Swiss National Science Foundation PostDoc Mobility fellowship. She co-edited a volume on anthropological perspectives of the circular economy (forthcoming 2023) and is transforming her doctoral thesis into a manuscript on extractive regimes around waste and scrap.
