Dag R. Olsen

Dag R. Olsen is currently the Rector of the University of Tromsø (2021–present) and holds the academic rank of Professor of Biomedical Physics at the University of Bergen. Previously, he served as Rector of the University of Bergen (2013–2020), Dean of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences at Bergen (2010–2013), and held leadership roles such as Head of the Institute of Cancer Research at Oslo University Hospital (2004–2010) and Professor of Medical Physics at the University of Oslo (2000–2010).

Research Interests: His work focuses on

• Radiation therapy physics
• Applied and translational life sciences

areas that bridge medical physics and cancer treatment innovation.

Scientific Awards:

• 2008: Klaas Breur Gold Medal for research and radiation therapy of cancer, European Society of Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology
