University of Santiago de CompostelaAbout
DIEGO RIVADULLA COSTA is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Galician Philology at the University of Santiago de Compostela's Faculty of Philology. He holds a PhD from the University of A Coruña (2020) with a thesis titled Novel and cultural memory: the fictionalization of Francoism in Galician narrative (2000-2015), supervised by Dr. Carlos Paulo Martínez Pereiro. His research focuses on cultural memory, Francoist repression in Galician literature, and contemporary theatre's role in historical memory. He is a member of the FILGA research group (Galician Philology and Linguistics).
His work explores intersections of Galician cultural identity, historical trauma, and narrative techniques. Key themes include the representation of Francoist dictatorship in novels and theatre, feminist dramaturgy, and the documentation of oral memories. His recent articles (2023–2024) emphasize feminist perspectives in Galician theatre and the cyclical nature of memory in performance art.
Diego’s publications span academic analyses of historical narratives, interviews with contemporary authors, and cataloging of memory-based theatrical works. He actively contributes to debates on Galician literature’s role in reclaiming marginalized histories, particularly through fictionalization and oral testimony integration.
