Dr. Davud Soylu is a Lecturer at Bingöl University's Faculty of Islamic Sciences, Department of Basic Islamic Sciences. He holds a PhD in Kalam from the University of Jordan, following a master's degree from the same program. His academic journey includes undergraduate studies in Religious Culture Education at İnönü University and Arabic language training at Marmara University, supported by scholarships from the Turkish Ministry of National Education.
His research focuses on theological renewal in Islamic thought, comparative Kalam studies, and the intersection of modern secular trends with traditional religious practices. Key works include analyses of Bediuzzaman Said Nursi's apologetic strategies and studies on medieval Anatolian Islamic scholarship.
Publications include articles in peer-reviewed journals such as RUSUH Journal of Uşak University and book chapters addressing topics like theological responses to atheism in Turkey's early republican era. He has presented at national and international conferences, including the Uluslararası Selçuklu Anadolu'sunda İlim ve Ulema Sempozyumu.
Author of multiple books including Allah'ın Varlığını ve Birliğini İspatlama Yöntemleri (2023) and Şiblî Nu‘mânî ve Abdüllatif Harpûtî'de İlm-i Kelamın Yenilenmesi (2023), his work bridges historical theology with contemporary religious discourse.
