D. J. S. Cross is an Assistant Professor of Translation at the University of Charlotte. He holds a PhD in Comparative Literature from the University at Buffalo (2017) and was a FONDECYT Postdoctoral Fellow at the Pontificia Universidad Católica in Santiago, Chile. His research focuses on theories and practices of translation, comparative literature, and continental philosophy in Europe and the Americas.
His scholarship includes the monograph Deleuze and the Problem of Affect (Edinburgh University Press, 2021) and an upcoming edited volume Deleuze and Affect (2025). He has translated works from French and Spanish authors including Philippe Lacoue-Labarthe, Catherine Malabou, and Pablo Oyarzun.
