Cyrus Mulready

Cyrus Mulready is Professor of English at SUNY New Paltz, specializing in Shakespeare, early modern literature, and book history. He directs the Storied Objects project documenting local history through material artifacts and leads graduate studies in English.

Research examines dramatic romance genres, Shakespearean textual transmission, and pedagogical applications of material culture studies. His work explores how physical objects shape historical narratives and literary interpretation.

Publications include Object Studies: Introductions to Material Culture (2023) and studies of Shakespeare's folios. Digital projects involve collaborations with Historic Huguenot Street and university archives to create accessible historical resources.

Awards recognize excellence in teaching (2017) and service (2023). He regularly presents at Shakespeare Association of America conferences and serves as co-editor of Shawangunk Review.
