Cyrus Abbasian

Dr. Cyrus Abbasian is an Honorary Senior Lecturer at St George's, University of London, and a Consultant Psychiatrist at South West London and St George's Mental Health NHS Trust. He serves as the Addictions Teaching Lead in the Section for Interdisciplinary Studies and has held this role since 2011. His clinical practice spans over two decades, with experience in both NHS and private sectors. He is actively involved in training medical students, junior doctors, and psychiatric trainees, focusing on topics like addictions, anxiety disorders, and community psychiatry.

Dr. Abbasian holds a BSc, MBBS, MSc, and is a Fellow of the Royal College of Psychiatrists (FRCPsych). His research interests include dual diagnosis, mental health stigma, digital psychiatry, and service development projects. He has supervised student research in areas such as digital health, telepsychiatry, and service innovation.

His work extends to media engagements, including BBC appearances and national newspaper contributions, alongside international conference presentations. Notable publications include a 2009 case study on aripiprazole and tardive dyskinesia in the Journal of Psychopharmacology.
