Dr. Tant's research program investigates human impacts on structure and function of aquatic ecosystems throughout the southeastern United States, with particular focus on the Cahaba River. Her doctoral work at the University of Georgia examined effects of nutrient enrichment on carbon resources and associated microbial and animal consumers. She has also conducted research during teaching positions in New York, where she studied salmon migration patterns and winter lake dynamics.
