Cynthia R. Gregory

Dr. Cynthia R. Gregory is a Senior Scientist at the Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU) Center for Regenerative Medicine and a Research Scientist at the Portland Veterans Affairs Medical Center. She holds a Ph.D. in Microbiology and Immunology from OHSU, followed by a Cardiovascular Medicine fellowship at the same institution, focusing on cardiac graft rejection mechanisms.

Her research emphasizes immune response regulation, including endothelial cells as targets in allograft rejection and autoimmune responses in experimental allergic encephalomyelitis. Current work centers on harnessing adult stem/progenitor cells to modulate inflammation and regenerate tissues, such as using bone marrow cells for muscle/nerve repair post-compartment syndrome, cardiac stem cells for heart disease treatment, and mesenchymal stromal cells for acute respiratory distress syndrome.

Dr. Gregory collaborates extensively within the Center for Regenerative Medicine and affiliated institutions, advancing interdisciplinary regenerative medicine initiatives.
