Cynthia Liu

Cynthia Liu is an Instructor in Ancient Greek and Latin at the University of Oxford's Department of Classics. She holds a BA from Baylor University, followed by an MSt and DPhil from the University of Oxford. Her research focuses on Latin and Greek poetry, Plato's philosophy, ritual studies, Renaissance and Early Modern reception of classical texts, and Global Classics. Key publications include analyses of Plato's use of mystery language, Ovid's Hecuba narrative, and Piccolomini's engagement with Lucretius.
