Cynthia Klima is an Associate Professor of German at SUNY Geneseo's Department of Global Languages and Cultures. She has been a member of the faculty since 1993 and coordinates the German minor and Central/Eastern European Studies minor.

Research Focus:
Dr. Klima specializes in German-Czech-Jewish relations, European political dynamics, and cultural history of Central Europe, with a particular emphasis on Russian literature and the historical experiences of Germans and Jews in Prague.
Translation Work:
Published a translation of Paul Leppin's Blaugast: A Novel of Decline (Twisted Spoon Press, 2007) and contributed numerous scholarly articles and book reviews on German, Czech, Russian, and Jewish themes.
Teaching & Programs:
Teaches courses in German (GERM 101), Russian (RUSS 205), and English language and culture (WRTG 101). Directs study abroad programs in Prague, Czech Republic.
