Cynthia Furse

Cynthia Furse is a Distinguished Professor in the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department at the University of Utah. She holds academic roles since 1995, including Associate Vice President for Research (2009–2019), and has been a faculty member at the University of Utah since 2002. Her research spans communications engineering, biomedical engineering, and educational innovation. She co-founded LiveWire Innovation, a company focused on electrical fault detection technologies.

Education: B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Utah (1986, 1988, 1994).
